Botox Injection

CANDIDATES:
Young men and women who start noticing wrinkle formation in their faces can use Botox to avoid the skin to get marked by excessive wrinkling. Older patients prefer to have Botox to eliminate or smooth the wrinkles. The procedure can be done alone or together with filler injections or facelift.

OBJECTIVE:
To weaken the muscles that form the wrinkles. The reduced facial movement allows the skin to relax and look more rejuvenated with a gradual reduction in wrinkle formation. Depending on the skin condition, pre-existing wrinkles may fade.

TECHNIQUE
Botox injections involve a series of small injections into the facial muscles. The solution is a chemical produced by the bacteria clostridium Botulinum. Its most common use in cosmetic medicine is to weaken the muscles that form the wrinkles. The reduced facial movement allows the skin to relax and look more rejuvenated with a gradual reduction in wrinkle formation. Depending on the skin condition, pre-existing wrinkles may fade.

OPERATING TIME
Five to Ten minutes

ANESTHESIA
Cream anesthesia or no anesthesia.

IN/OUT PATIENT:
Outpatient.

RECOVERY:
There will be a few lumps immediately after the injection, which will disappear after 30 minutes. The effect of the application start to show usually after four days and it should last from 4 to 6 months. Sometimes 8 months. One week after the application patients should return to the clinic for follow-up and if there is a need for touch-up it is already included in the original price.

RISKS:
Complications from Botox are not frequent. Bruising may occur if patients are prone to it. Eyelid drooping might occur if the patient massages the treated area on the day of the application. It can be reversed with special eye drops.

DETAILS:
Botox is today a big part of our practice. It can be used for relaxing the facial muscles giving the face a more natural expression. It can be used to relax the muscles and enhance the eyebrows, to improve the crowns feet and the nose wrinkles or to relax the muscles that pull down the corners of the mouth. Another indication for Botox is the neck, where we can inject the bands of the platysma muscle to avoid the turkey neck look. When a patient has hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating in the armpits, hands or feet Botox acts very well stopping the excessive sweat and reducing it to normal level.

DURATION OF THE RESULTS
Weakening of the injected muscles begins to be apparent after 4 days with the peak effect being reached after 7 days. Results can last 4-7 months when the procedure can be repeated if desired.
